Mentorship Equals You

Mentorship is a powerful connection. A relationship that nurtures potential and fosters growth. For mentors, the rewards add up to fulfillment, and for mentees, the benefits are exponential. But don’t just take it from us, discover the inspiring stories of Marc Lafleur and Jose Jimenez. Through their experiences, we see a clear pattern that mentorship = opportunity, guidance, and success.

Mentorship = Empowerment

Imagine the challenges in raising two young children at 67 and 65 years. That’s why Lucas’ grandparents encouraged him to join Big Brothers Big Sisters. Since Lucas has had a big brother, it has changed his life for the positive. James is not only a big brother to Lucas, he’s also his best friend. Lucas says that James pushes him to his limits in everything they do. For James it’s meant he’s grown as a person while making a meaningful impact. James is not only a big brother to Lucas, he’s one of the most important people in his life. Watch their mentorship story.

Mentorship = Guidance

What do you do when you recently retire and your grandkids live in another province? Sandra found herself asking this question and she knew she needed a fresh perspective and wanted to spend time with the younger generation. They led her to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

She knew she had something to offer a child. Kids laugh more, make friends easier and don’t get hung up on the little things. She started as an In-School Mentor where Flora entered her life. They spent time in school initially and have a while decided they’d like to do things outside of school and so they transferred their match into our community program becoming Big and Little Sisters!

Who doesn’t love seeing that joy and enthusiasm a child gets when they are having fun. Like every child, Flora needs kindness, guidance and positive life experiences and that is what Sandra provides.

It’s only a few hours a week, but Sandra says it brings out the kid in her, and she feel it enriches Flora’s life too. Like most things that you volunteer for, you get back more than you give. Watch their mentoring story.

Mentorship = many things to many people, but both Lucas and James and Sandra and Flora’s stories are two examples of how mentorship = the possibility of a brighter future. By becoming a mentor, you can provide the same support, encouragement, and guidance that can change the course of a young person’s life.

Join us in making a difference and envision yourself playing a pivotal role in the future success of young people like Lucas and Flora, all thanks to your support.
