Our annual “Go Girls Golf Tournament”  will be back on August 13, 2025. Thank you to everyone who supported the 11th annual tournament and enabling us to raise over $55,000 for our Go Girls programs.  This Tournament, open to women and gender-diverse indiviudals, isn’t about being a good golfer… it’s about having a good time while raising money to support girls and gender-diverse young people through our “Go Girls! Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds” mentoring program.

What is Go Girls! Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds?

Go Girls! Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds is a diversity mentoring program designed to address the physical  activity, balanced eating, and positive self-image needs of young people ages 10-12. The program consists of mentoring sessions conducted within local schools or community centres. The goal of the program is for participants to develop an appreciation of the benefits of an active, healthy lifestyle and to enhance the competence, confidence and self-esteem of youth, empowering them to reach their full potential. Since the program began, over 1600 young people have participated in this program.

YOUNG PEOPLE ARE COUNTING ON US

Never before has there been a more critical need for mentoring. Data collected since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic tells us that 74% of BBBS youth face 4 or more adversities in their daily life while 45% have experienced 6 or more. Childhood adversities can have a negative impact on social development and other kinds of learning, making it harder for children to achieve goals, get along with others, regulate emotions, and do well in school. Strong, responsive relationships that our mentors   provide can buffer childhood adversities, protecting and promoting positive health outcomes for young people. The funds raised from this event can ensure youth have the support they need to build resilience and thrive. We are #BiggerTogether
