Bowl for Kids Sake Postponed – new date TBA

In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the mandated social distancing situation in our province, we have made a very difficult decision to postpone Bowl for Kids Sake and related events. We are confident this is the right decision. There is nothing more important to us than your health and safety.

While we haven’t set a new date yet, we will let you know as soon as we do.

Bowl for Kids Sake has been the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts for over 40 years. It is our largest and most important fundraiser annually and this decision will certainly create challenges in the months ahead for our organization.

We encourage you to continue supporting this important fundraiser – without the funds generated by participants and sponsors of Bowl for Kids Sake, our organization would struggle to operate.

Hundreds of young people and their families rely on us to facilitate their network of positive adults and we cannot falter in our support of them. Especially in stressful times, young people need mentors they can turn to for support and encouragement.

Our staff are here to support your efforts and we encourage you to reach out to us. While we are working remotely at this time, we are still doing everything possible to ensure the agency’s steadfast commitment to the young people we serve.

We appreciate your efforts so far to help Big Brothers Big Sisters and look forward to your continued support as we work through this unprecedented time.

On behalf of our Board of Directors and agency staff, stay safe and stay healthy – we will be in touch soon.

Bowl for Kids Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters’ premier fun-raising event where people like you get together with friends, family, and co-workers and have a fun time bowling in support of Big Brother Big Sister mentoring programs in metro St. John’s.

WHY BOWL FOR KIDS SAKE?

All children need support and encouragement from caring adults to help ignite their potential. We connect young people with carefully selected mentors that result in friendships. These relationships ensure outcomes like resilience, improved school achievement, confidence and strength to make positive life choices. Last year over 515 young people were matched with a mentor right here in our community.

What does raising money during Bowl for Kids Sake accomplish?

Families reach out to Big Brothers Big Sisters in ever-growing numbers for support, and our ability to help them relies on our fundraising success. Creating a new match between a volunteer and child has an annual cost of $1,200. YOU and your team can become a MatchMaker. Aim to raise $1,200 and help invest in the creation of a new match relationship. Every dollar raised helps us help kids!

Your Mission: FUN-RAISE to ignite the full potential of amazing kids!
