Opening doors for kids in our community

We’re only just getting started.

 

We set out to open 75 doors for young people in need of mentorship – and we’ve already surpassed that, opening 85.

 

And we’re just getting started. There will always be kids waiting, always doors to open, and always a need for support to help young people thrive.

 

With the right mentor, even kids who grow up facing barriers can unlock their full potential. We’ve witnessed the impact for 50 years.

 

Our local BBBS agency here in St. John’s does not have a guaranteed funding source. Each year we work to raise vital dollars to maintain our community and school-based programs that are delivered to more than 450 young people every year. We rely on the support of our community to help us facilitate the important work we do – the screening, training, matching, and monitoring it takes to initiate and support each match every year.

 

We invite you to continue on this journey with us. Our work is far from over. With your continued support and partnership, we will keep going, we will keep growing, and we will keep changing lives for generations to come – one match at a time.
